I heard from the news last night that Hacienda Luisita's land will now be distributed to its tenants and the purchase price will be based on the 1989 valuation.
Victory for land reform in our country but what worries me is the fact that most land that are distributed to tenants are either sold illegally or are not utilized properly because of the cost of agricultural production in the country. Most agricultural land are "nakaprenda."
Haist mahirap solusyonan ang lahat na problema ng bayan.
A few days back a bloody demolition was implemented by the police in Paranaque. I was aghast with the footage of one SWAT team member who was allegedly issuing a warning shot but was aiming directly at the protesters who were throwing Molotov bombs and stones. There were a number of wounded and one dead person.
The entire coverage smacks of poor planning on the part of the police. It worries me because my husband is a policeman and I realized that hopefully this is not the case with most team leaders because it is frightening that those who are in the top of the command chain plans and decides poorly.
Had a long discussion with the husband last night. Summary love is not a battlefield and our house should not be a battle ground. :)
