I am at page 198 of Elizabeth Gilbert's book Committed.
I bought the book a few weeks back because I was having hard time adjusting to married life. The only solution that I could think of at that time was: "I should read more books on love, relationships and marriage."
I thought that Committed is an apt book to read during this period of my married life. No it is not a guidebook. Nor is it a how to book. It is a narrative of the author's research, experiences and views on love and marriage told in a reader friendly and entertaining manner.
It made me refine my conflicting views on marriage and commitment. It is also helping me form strategies on how to handle my marriage.
One thing that I am sure of at this point in my married life is that "Marriage is hard work."
But another thing that I am sure of is that I really love my husband and he loves me and that we will be OK. :) I am grateful that as of date we are back to having an OK marriage thanks to our parents, friends and our realization that we should not be too hard with ourselves.
Fingers crossed and Inshaallah. :)
