While You Were Sleeping

Alvin is sleeping in the sofa while I am writing this entry.

Finally a day without petty quarrels after almost two weeks of no respite from useless and petty stuff especially if placed in the context that both of us are in this marriage for the long haul and add the context of the Sendong disaster. Our concerns seem so petty.

I am grateful for our Prexy Pinks  (Rotary Club of Greater General Santos City) who encouraged us to donate instead of spending for our Christmas party. :0

Today is a good day! I have ask for help from friends and gratefully the help is pouring in. Quite a relief from a thinly veiled offer to sell the case of my client. Haist! The pitfalls of litigation.
I had coffee with one of my friend (through thick and thin) and met a BAR buddy who graciously  helped me with my concerns. We saw a classmate while we were having coffee whom we invited to seat in our table too. We had a fun conversation regarding our practices since the four of us took different paths in our lawyering. Masaya talaga kapag kausap mo kaklase o kaibigan na simple lang :)

After coffee, I requested my friend to accompany me to buy containers for our food. We had a lot of wedding gifts but only a few containers for food storage. I opted to buy containers for our sawsawan as well since we often throw the left over sawsawan and I think it is such a wasteful habit.

I decided to also go to the grocery department with my friend. Alam mong kaibigan mo na talaga ang tao kung di ka mahihiyang sabihing mamalengke tayo habang nag-tsitsismisan. I bought coffee, eggs, dried fish and soy sauce. I forgot to buy salt and matches.
Argh! I have yet to master the art of "married groceries shopping". Our household runs out of coffee often which pisses me off. I decided to buy two packs. Courtesy of my husband's P-Noy which came at the right time.:)

Pieces of unsolicited advice that I can give to those planning to get married are these: 1. Stick to the budget for the wedding. 2. Save money for at least six months worth of living expenses as married couple. 3. Mahirap mag-asawa pero kaya dahil sabi nga sa Walking Dead:
"You don't get to do that. Come into somebody's life, make them care and then just check out.":)
Oh and I had a hair cut brought about by my frustrations on the events the past few weeks but I have resolved to be stronger, better, saner and not to get a hair cut just because I am frustrated.

On to dealing with our responsibilities as a married couple. :)
