Seeking guidance through prayer.

The absence of prayer is taking a toll in my life.

Truth be told I have only went to the Mosque twice since I converted to Islam.

I have yet to do at least one of the daily five prayers.

I have not memorized the first phrase of the Quoran.

I am at a lost as to how to pray.

Nanay told me that I am an intelligent person and it is my obligation to myself to teach myself how to pray the Muslim way. She is correct.

Tonight I am starting to seriously pray. Not the usual unstructured and conversational way that I grew up with, not the usual recite the Lord's prayer nor the grab the Rosary beads and pray style.

I am starting with looking for Islamic verses about married life. I will take it from there and I will allot an hour a day to study my new religion.

The challenges that I am facing. The troubles that are coming my way. All of them are attributable to the lack of prayer in my life and in our married life. And starting this very moment I resolve to be a good wife and a good person. :)

Coincidentally, I found this useful link On Marriage

" [30:21] Among His proofs is that He created for you spouses from among yourselves, in order to have tranquility and contentment with each other, and He placed in your hearts love and care towards your spouses. In this, there are sufficient proofs for people who think."
